Michael Kinzel, Ph.D.

Dr. Michael Kinzel is a distinguished aerospace engineer with over 20 years of experience in both academia and industry. He holds a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from Penn State University and a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Northern Arizona University.

Dr. Kinzel has served as an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of Central Florida and a Research Associate at the Applied Research Laboratory at Penn State University.

Dr. Kinzel's expertise lies in vehicle development across marine, air, and space applications. He focuses on using numerical methods and computational tools for engineering design, specializing in All-Mach multiphase flows and aerodynamics. His notable research contributions include the development of quiet sandblast nozzles, analysis of plume impingement on Martian aircraft and lunar surfaces, and the creation of the Flex-Eject System for underwater launch.

Dr. Kinzel's contributions to aerospace engineering, particularly in computational fluid dynamics and multiphase flow research, have significantly advanced the field; has authored 45 peer-reviewed publications, over 70 conference papers, and delivered numerous invited lectures and professional workshops.
